2022 heralds a long awaited return of the Foyle Maritime Festival to the banks and waters of the River Foyle in the city of Derry~Londonderry.
A festival without equal, the event is a 4 day, large scale experience which promises an exhilarating programme of entertainment, activities, and interactive events.
After a hiatus due to COVID-19 the 2022 Festival will be one of the most authentic experiences on offer to local, regional, and international visitors and we are delighted to open our city and region to more than 150,000 attendees.
We’re proud to announce that the Clipper 2019/2020 Race (postponed to resume in the Philippines in February 2022) will stopover in the Foyle Marina this year. This will be the fifth occasion that the city has acted as host port for this prestigious race and we are thrilled to have earned a reputation as the penultimate stopover.
Our Festival brings visitors from all over the world who come to the seafaring city of Derry~Londonderry and join us in embracing the cultural heritage of Ireland’s only walled city, the delights of the North Antrim Coast, the Giant’s Causeway and the breathtaking beauty of the Inishowen Penninsula and Donegal.
With ten years of Festival behind us, the FMF has firmly established itself as one of the largest and most ambitious and unique maritime events in Europe.
It’s not long now until we see the majestic race fleet sailing up the River Foyle to a rapturous welcome. The charged spirits and the exhilarating atmosphere promises an experience to savour both on and off the water.
